We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer (part‑time) to support the maintenance and continuous improvement of our internal database software. In this role, you will work closely with our software engineer and helping other stakeholders/teams to ensure the continuous usability of the platform, implement new features, ensure it is up to date, and fit for purpose.

This position is ideal for a aspiring software engineer or students who wants to gain hands‑on experience maintaining a real production system while working part‑time alongside their studies or other commitments.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Key responsibilities of a person in this role may include:

  • Support the ongoing maintenance and stability of the platform;

  • Resolve bugs and technical issues;

  • Implement new features, such as new data handling and data visualisation;

  • Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to understand support needs.

The work is done individually, but you will be working closely within the Software Engineer.

You will work part-time (16-24 hours) and will be based at our HQ in Delft, contributing to our dynamic and friendly work environment!

Your profile and requirements

We are looking for someone who...
  • has solid knowledge of Python, Javascript and Git;
  • has basic understanding of relational databases;
  • is reliable, structured, and able to work independently;
  • has critical-thinking skills;
  • has problem solving skills.
The following working experiences are a plus:
  • Knowledge of Django;
  • Knowledge of APIs.
