Job Description
Join Single Quantum — one of the fastest-growing quantum technology companies — and help us explore and develop new applications of our superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs).
In Short
At Single Quantum, we dedicate every day to creating the world’s fastest and most sensitive light detection systems.
We are a steadily growing scale-up with a global customer base and a thriving R&D program that drives innovation in quantum technologies. A key piece of our commercial success is seeded in our state-of-the-art Research and Development.
In our Research team, we work on multiple R&D projects with partners across Europe. Most of our cutting-edge projects focus on quantum technologies—including Quantum communication, Quantum computing, and Quantum sensing—while others target advanced applications such as LiDAR and Space systems.
Each of these applications requires customized versions of our detectors, and we rely on creative and dedicated professionals to test and evaluate new ideas, ensuring that the most promising ones contribute to our next-generation products.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Research Engineer, you will be actively involved in European research projects, play a key role in SNSPD system concept design, and take responsibility for developing new critical technologies and modules in line with Single Quantum’s technology and product roadmap.
You will collaborate closely with other Research Engineers, as well as our engineering, production, and business development teams, to identify new applications and translate research ideas into tangible products.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting R&D experiments related to emerging scientific and industrial applications.
- Performing optical experiments at our lab in Delft, as well as in collaboration with potential partners or customers in order to demonstrate our diverse range of applications.
- Identifying funding opportunities, contributing to grant proposal writing, and coordinating Research projects.
- Expanding Single Quantum’s professional network through collaborations, demonstrations, and events.
- Developing new SNSPD concepts for next-generation photon detection systems, contributing to our technology roadmap.
- Representing Single Quantum at scientific conferences and trade shows, showcasing our innovations and discovering new opportunities.
Please note: This vacancy will remain open until 7th of November, after which it will be taken offline. We encourage you to submit your application before then.
