Sensara is a fast-growing scale-up with one clear mission: offering seniors the best possible life using smart technology. We achieve this with a versatile platform that supports healthcare organizations in delivering high-quality care, from home care to nursing homes.

In recent years we have experienced excellent growth, and we are fully committed to further technical developments towards 2026. This will allow us to remain a leader in AI in healthcare and enables us to develop even more data-driven solutions.

As our platform continues to expand, it becomes even more important that everything remains stable, secure, and scalable; this allows us to remain ambitious in the functionalities we want to add. To achieve this, we are looking for a Cloud Engineer with a software background that will focus on global platform stability. In other terms: a Site Reliability Engineer.

Job Description

Are you a Software Engineer that wants to go beyond software development? This might just be the role for you.

If you are interested in understanding CI/CD pipelines, security, application deployment (kubernetes) and maintenance, reliability and quality, but also and mainly process enhancements, then you could be the perfect candidate for us!

Sensara is a SaaS solution and runs entirely on the Google Cloud. Because our solution is used 24/7 in healthcare, a stable platform is paramount. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll work closely with the Tech Lead, QA Engineer, Product Owner, and other Cloud Engineers, and you'll be involved in all steps of the release cycle. You'll monitor the quality of the platform, devise ways to better monitor connected integrations, and ensure we can intervene quickly when issues arise.

In this role, it is especially important that you are eager to learn and to teach, but also take initiatives. We're looking for someone who visibly takes the lead, serves as a role model for the team, and has the potential to guide and support colleagues in delivering software of the highest quality.

This is a key position with critical responsibilities and high expectations. In order to help you get the required knowledge and capabilities, an extensive learning period with a peer is planned, where you will get the keys to learn and perform as best as possible.

Qualifications

  • You have previous experience as a Software Engineer (2 years minimum);
  • You feel confident using Java (Maven, SpringBoot), and SQL;
  • Experience with software solutions running on a cloud platform (e.g., Google Cloud Platform) is a plus, as is experience with Kubernetes;
  • You have the ability/ambition to quickly resolve complex issues on the platform and, when necessary, improve our monitoring and alerting;
  • You are able to quickly give different solutions to a given problem, explaining the pros and cons of each solution, and in what context one approach should be preferred over another one;
  • You are eager to learn;
  • You would rather follow a tutorial and read documentation, than unknowingly execute the ChatGPT suggestions;
  • Abstraction levels and abstract concepts do not frighten you too much;
  • You are a true team player, proactive, and a go-getter;
  • You have completed a higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) degree;
  • You speak and write fluent English. Proficiency in Dutch is a plus;
  • You are available to work at least two days a week at the Rotterdam office.

This role is full-time, but part-time availability is certainly negotiable.

Additional Information

We also offer you:

  • A position with enthusiastic colleagues who are eager to develop together and make a real impact in elderly care;
  • A dynamic scale-up environment with plenty of room for initiative;
  • Excellent employment conditions;
  • Unlimited career opportunities. If you move, Sensara moves with you;
  • A company laptop;
  • 25 vacation days.
