About Us
QuantWare is the world's leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. As a hyper-growth scale-up with a global customer base, our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer. We push the boundaries of what's possible in our field. We work on making the world’s largest quantum processors as fast as possible.
At QuantWare, we’re not just producing quantum hardware for the hyperscalers of tomorrow; we’re working on technology that will change the world. To make that ambition a reality, we need exceptional people who drive real impact. That’s where you come in.
Our Quantum Processor Team is seeking an excellent Scientific Software Engineer to take ownership of the software infrastructure that powers our Quantum Processing Unit (QPU) design. As we develop larger QPUs, the complexity of our codebase scales with it. You will be responsible for simplifying our codebase, accelerating our design workflows, and implementing robust testing pipelines and Design Rule Checks (DRC) that ensure device quality. You will work closely with our quantum physicists and RF engineers to build the tools they rely on to design the next generation of quantum processors. Furthermore, this role offers growth opportunities to quantum engineering roles in our Processor Design and Measurement teams.
What you’ll be doing
Lead Software Development Projects: Architect, develop, and continuously improve the software tools and libraries used for quantum device design (using frameworks like Quantum/Qiskit Metal, ANSYS, KLayout).
Codebase Optimisation: Refactor and simplify existing codebase to speed up the processor design flow.
Quality Assurance & DRC: Design and implement automated software tests and Design Rule Checks (DRC) to catch layout errors early and improve overall device yield.
Manage CI/CD Pipelines: Oversee code architecture and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth, scalable software integration across the team.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with physics and engineering teams (who use tools like KLayout, ANSYS HFSS) to ensure your software interfaces seamlessly with their simulation environments.
Your Profile
Experience: 4+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on scientific computing, code architecture, library design, and automated testing.
Programming Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Python and the scientific stack (SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib).
DevOps & Infrastructure: Proven hands-on experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
Education: Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
Delivery: A proven track record of showing initiative, autonomy, and delivering complex technical projects with practical impact.
Nice to Have
Experience with Python-based layout and EDA tools (e.g., Qiskit Metal, GDSFactory, or scripting for KLayout, Sonnet, ANSYS).
Familiarity with superconducting circuits, quantum computing principles, or microwave engineering.
