At VSTEP, we lead the maritime simulation industry by delivering innovative training solutions to professionals and organizations worldwide. As we expand our footprint in the APAC region, we seek for an experienced Business Development Partner to drive our growth and support our ambitious goals for 2025–2030.
Note: This is an independent contractor opportunity, not an employment role. Applicants must ensure they meet all legal requirements to operate as an independent contractor in their country of residence.

What will you be doing?
  • Expanding VSTEP’s presence by identifying and developing new business opportunities in APAC.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with maritime training centres, shipping companies, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Engaging with clients at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Managing tenders, proposals, and contracts, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Collaborating with VSTEP’s Commercial team in Rotterdam to align strategies and business development efforts.
  • Advising on regional market trends and providing strategic insights.
  • Traveling within the APAC region as needed and visiting the Netherlands HQ 3–4 times per year.
Is this you?
You are:
  • Located in the APAC region.
  • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to work independently in your region.
  • A strong communicator with a customer-focused, solution-oriented approach.
  • Highly experienced in sales and business development, particularly in the APAC region.
  • Fluent in English (additional APAC languages are a plus).
  • Flexible and open to travel within the APAC region and internationally.
  • Legally registered as an independent contractor in your country.
You have:
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within APAC.
  • A proven track record in the maritime industry, simulation, or a related field.
  • The ability to identify industry opportunities and develop market strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills, with experience handling tenders and contracts.
  • A well-established professional network in the maritime sector.
