Your job with us
As a Sensing Applications Specialist, you bridge customers and product development to push the boundaries of sensing with nanoporous materials. You run and coordinate multiple technical projects, generate proof points to validate VSP technology, and support characterization with our in-house SEM. You connect technical excellence with commercial impact to accelerate customer adoption. You also support Sales & Marketing by providing technical input during the sales process, representing VSP at conferences, and assisting with marketing content to maximize customer success.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute (lab work) and manage reporting of projects (EU projects, national subsidises, and R&D projects) focused on the development of sensing devices based on nanoporous layers using VSP technology.
Get new insights on the nanoporous layers’ structural/composition properties that can be used to push the limits of performance of gas sensing applications.
Draft internal reports and project proposals, research articles and abstract for international conferences related with the development of Sensing & Advance functional devices using VSP technology.
Give technical assistance during the sale journey with customers interested in developing sensing and devices based on functional materials using VSP technology.
Guide and assist on the marketing content generation.
Give feedback to the Product Development team concerning VSP technology and equipment and potential upgrades needed to improve fit between VSP technology and Sensing applications. Further validate the new product/prototyping features.
Job requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
A PhD or a Master’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant work experience in Physics or Chemistry.
Ideally, background in the development of sensing devices based on nanostructures.
Proficient in nanostructure characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, TEM, etc) and data analyses and interpretation.
Project management skills are a strong plus
Basic business understanding to align technical work with commercial goals.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot experimental and technical challenges.
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including R&D, Product Development, Sales, and Marketing.
Excellent command of written and spoken English, other languages seen as a strong bonus
