MISSION TO METRICS
The mission of The Ocean Cleanup is to develop technology to rid the world’s oceans and rivers of plastic, and to achieve this, we must effectively tell our story to a broad range of stakeholders.

Therefore, communications has a unique and central role to play within the organization. Our main task is to oversee the day-to-day management of one of our most important assets: our brand, driving funding, understanding, and engagement from stakeholders globally. We are looking for top talent to join us in this exciting and groundbreaking work to continuously uphold and improve our image, educate, inform, and drive positive action.

You will support this mission by facilitating media engagement to amplify the impact of our work. Reporting to the Head of Media and Communications, you will assist in strategically and effectively telling the innovative story of The Ocean Cleanup to key audiences. Working to performance metrics, these will include targeted international and national media, specialized outlets, commentators, partners, and advocates, alongside members of the scientific community.

“We are at an exciting stage in the development of our communications plans with a busy year ahead. We welcome the support of an experienced and creative communications manager to help the organization achieve our challenging goals to remove plastic from our oceans and rivers.” - Robin Clegg, Head of PR & Media
