The Role
SolarDuck is seeking a highly motivated and organized Manager for Subsidies & Grants. The ideal candidate will have a technical background and experience in subsidy management, with a thorough understanding of the renewable energy industry and Dutch and European regulations, excellent writing and communication skills, and experience in policy analysis, subsidy lobbying, and grant writing. The Manager Subsidies & Grants will represent SolarDuck in the research community and universities and will activate partners to fill potential knowledge gaps. Next, the Manager Subsidies & Grants will represent SolarDuck in drafting regulatory frameworks and be a governmental counterpart in drafting regimes to stimulate the development of the OFPV industry. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in helping our organization secure the funding needed to advance solar technology research. The Manager Subsidies & Grants will report to CTO and Director of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
– Research various types of grants available and the criteria to qualify for each grant.
– Write (and/or oversee the writing of) compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate
our organization’s vision and goals, showcasing our impact and potential to achieve even greater
results with the support of grant funding.
– As a Manager Subsidies & Grants, you will be responsible for managing the administrative and
organizational tasks involved in the grant application process. This includes completing all
necessary documents, forms, and reports required by the grant to ensure that applications are
submitted accurately and on time.
– Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining master files on grants and
the paperwork connected to programs funded by grants, ensuring that all grant-related
information is organized and made easily accessible for team members.
– You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our programs and projects which are funded by grants
are monitored and evaluated efficiently. You will oversee the planning, development, and
implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure that the programs and projects
are effectively addressing the goals and objectives set out in the grant proposals.
– Collaborate with subsidy consultants to optimize grant opportunities and secure additional
funding for projects.
– Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior leadership and department heads, to explore
a range of funding opportunities and identify potential sources of financial support to advance
our organization’s mission.
– Compile necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other
employees, database research, and other fact-finding actions and meetings.
– Be the first point of contact for authorities regarding potential funding, setting up regulatory
frameworks and regimes to stimulate the development of the industry.
Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in related technical fields like: Solar, Offshore, and Maritime.
– 6+ years of experience in grant management and grant writing, with a thorough understanding
of local, state, and federal funding sources and regulations related to solar technology research
or related branches.
– Demonstrated expertise in grant writing with a thorough understanding of effective grant-
writing techniques.
– Proficient in project management tools.
Skills:
– We are looking for a candidate with exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
– Proven track record of successful project management, including the ability to effectively plan,
execute, and monitor projects from start to finish.
– Highly skilled in prioritizing work and allocating resources to meet project goals and objectives,
with a focus on maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
– Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze financial data to prepare accurate budgets and
financial grant reports.
