As our S&S Systems Engineer, you ensure smooth systems functionality and provide technical solutions for customer inquiries. You proactively address issues, monitor stability remotely, and maintain database, system, and server performance. You work side-by-side with Project Management, Product Managers, and R&D teams to resolve complex issues. Reporting directly to the S&S Systems Manager, you play a vital role in keeping our software–hardware integration seamless.
What you'll do
System monitoring and optimization: Oversee our database, systems, and servers' performance remotely. Track uptime and performance metrics to ensure maximum system stability. Conduct regular technical analysis and manage updates for functionality and security.
Technical support and deployment: Provide daily and on-call technical support to end-users. Focus on software–hardware integration to diagnose and resolve customer issues remotely. Support internal teams with the deployment and troubleshooting of radar systems.
Data analysis and collaboration: Perform customer first-line data analysis to uncover trends and patterns. Work closely with internal teams to understand product limitations. Share user feedback with Product and R&D teams to improve user experience.
Preventive maintenance and reviews: Use monitoring tools to detect and resolve vulnerabilities early. Perform regular inspections to proactively address potential system issues. Participate in product performance reviews with customers and take action or escalate items.
Documentation and records: Maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities and repairs. Keep track of equipment performance to ensure efficient operations. Use these records to find areas for long-term improvement.
What you bring
BA or HBO degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a relevant field.
Over 3 years of working experience in IT support roles.
Strong experience with monitoring tools, database management systems, and hardware configuration.
Deep knowledge of operating systems like Linux and Ubuntu.
Solid understanding of networking protocols like VPNs and scripting languages.
Natural affinity with radar systems and how they operate.
Fluent English, both spoken and written, while basic Dutch is an asset.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a structured problem-solving approach.
Great communication skills across cultures with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
Willing to travel up to 10% for occasional client visits.
