As a Production Planner & Coordinator, you will serve as the strategic backbone of our production operations, orchestrating planning activities and ensuring seamless material flow from procurement through delivery. You will collaborate closely with project managers, sales teams, production crews, and engineering partners to maintain efficient schedules and meet customer commitments. Acting as a trusted right hand to the Head of Production & Planning, you will identify optimization opportunities, drive process improvements, and ensure our operations run smoothly and predictably. Your role will be essential in translating complex production challenges into streamlined, efficient workflows.
Responsibilities
Production Planning & Communication: Develop and monitor the production schedule to ensure efficient workflow while considering production capacity and constraints. Align with Project Managers and other stakeholders regarding delivery dates, assign production slots, issue work orders, and maintain accurate status lists to ensure a smooth production process.
Material Management & Supply Chain: Ensure timely and accurate availability of parts and materials in collaboration with Procurement and Logistics. Own the kitting process, organizing and optimizing material preparation so that all required components are available at the right time and place.
Engineering Coordination: Manage changes and updates in the bill of materials (BOM) with Engineering to ensure smooth and accurate production processes and maintain seamless technical alignment.
Workplace Organization & Process Improvement: Optimize the production area through standardization, flexible layouts, and efficient use of space. Identify and implement continuous improvements to reduce lead times, enhance stability, and drive operational excellence.
Quality Alerts & Problem Resolution: Take swift and effective action on quality alerts to ensure minimal disruption to production processes. Follow up on troubleshooting through the quality alert board and maintain uninterrupted workflow.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and maintain a safe, organized working environment. Coordinate monthly cleaning activities and oversee compliance with safety procedures during daily operations.
Production Management Support: Advise the Head of Production & Planning and act as their replacement during absences. Prepare meetings with sales, support or lead stand-up meetings, and ensure seamless communication between production and other departments.
Requirements
BA degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations
5+ years of proven experience in production planning, logistics, and material management, preferably in a technical production environment
Deep knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and proven experience coordinating with Engineering departments
Expertise in supply chain techniques, particularly kitting and efficient supply chain methodologies
Proven ability to optimize processes and reduce waste using Lean/Six Sigma principles or similar operational excellence frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide evidence-based insights to support decision-making; proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel
Strategic partnership mindset – able to act as a sparring partner for management, providing critical insights and serving as official backup for the Head of Production & Planning
Leadership and influence skills with strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to gain buy-in from stakeholders with conflicting interests
Resilient and assertive – comfortable saying "no" when needed, handling resistance with grace, and remaining calm and methodical under high-pressure schedules
Result-driven mentality with decisiveness and the ability to overcome obstacles with constructive solutions, excitement, and a positive attitude
Process awareness – meticulous attention to detail with the ability to visualize logical workflows and understand cross-departmental impacts
Fluency in both spoken and written English; knowledge of Dutch is considered a valuable asset
