As a S&S Service Engineer, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with customer focus to provide comprehensive installation, maintenance, and support services for our radar systems. You will be responsible for installing and configuring systems at customer locations worldwide, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring our customers' operations run smoothly and safely. Your role will be essential in building strong customer relationships and maintaining the highest standards of service quality.

Responsibilities

  • System Installation & Configuration – Install and configure radar systems for customers worldwide. Perform on-site testing and initial calibration to verify that installations meet technical specifications and operate properly. Collaborate with Project Management teams during the design and planning phase to advise on optimal radar installations at customer premises.

  • Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting – Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to avoid potential breakdowns and document all maintenance activities and service records. Address on-the-spot issues, diagnose malfunctions, analyze root causes of failures, and repair or replace faulty components, parts, or software as needed, working together with the Systems Team.

  • Service Documentation & Reporting – Maintain detailed service reports, including diagnostics, repairs performed, and parts used. Provide valuable feedback to the engineering team based on field experiences to drive continuous improvement and product development.

  • Sub-contractor Management & Compliance – Manage sub-contractors on location and ensure compliance with service contracts, warranties, and quality standards. Maintain professional relationships with customers, resellers, and external stakeholders across all locations and cultures.

Requirements

  • BA or MBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Dutch/EU national with excellent Dutch skills (C1+ level)

  • Over 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electromechanics, system installation, maintenance, or repair roles with strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software systems

  • Valid driver's license (B category) – a must; preferably also trailer license (BE)

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software systems with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Structured and independent working style with attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work effectively both independently on location and as part of a team

  • Assertive and adaptable with a hands-on mindset and willingness to roll up your sleeves

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders across different cultures and backgrounds

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English; knowledge of Dutch is considered an asset

  • Knowledge of radar systems is beneficial but not required

  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 55% business travel required)
