We are seeking a Manager of Engineering / Technical Director to steer our hardware R&D projects and drive excellence in execution. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Engineering Team
Direct and mentor a high-performing Engineering Team (15 to 20 people) in executing R&D projects as outlined in the annual plan or approved by the Management Team (MT).
  • Foster Collaboration
Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing culture within the development team, ensuring timely project delivery and cross-departmental communication.
  • Enhance Processes
Implement and refine engineering processes to boost efficiency, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Coach and Develop
Provide guidance and coaching to Engineering Team leads and Project Managers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Resolve Conflicts
Act as the escalation point for prioritization conflicts within the engineering department or between departments, ensuring effective resolution and alignment with company priorities.
  • Resource Management
Identify and address resourcing issues, including staffing needs and skill gaps, through proactive measures such as hiring, training, or reallocating resources.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends
Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, integrating them into the company's engineering practices.
  • Promote Innovation
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
  • Quality and Safety Standards
Establish and maintain quality standards for our machines and ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations.
  • Intellectual Property Management
Oversee the management of intellectual property protection and compliance including Strategy.
  • Documentation Standards
Establish and maintain quality standards for documentation creation, review, and protection.

Whom are we looking for:
Professional qualifications and skills:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 7 - 10 years in a leadership role within hardware engineering.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in hardware development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and improving engineering processes to drive operational efficiency and quality.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving results and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in prioritizing and resolving conflicts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing startup/scale-up environment and adapt to new challenges.
  • Experience in robotics and/or coating industry is desirable.
