Quality Engineer
Qblox
Quality Assurance
Delft, Netherlands
What will you do?
The Mission
At Qblox, we are orchestrating the "brain" of the quantum computer. Our control stacks are used by the world’s leading research labs to talk to qubits with nanosecond precision. But high-end FPGAs and ultra-low-noise RF circuits are only as powerful as the reliability and continuity of the hardware itself.
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to ensure our hardware remains world-class as we scale. As we transition from producing hundreds to thousands of units per month, your mission is to safeguard our reputation for excellence. You will be the guardian of hardware continuity, ensuring that every device leaving our facility—and every device returning for repair—is handled with surgical precision and a "can-do" mindset.
The Role & Future Growth
You will sit at the operational heart of Qblox, working from the beta phase through to full-scale production. Initially, your focus will be deeply technical and hands-on: resolving hardware bottlenecks, conducting repairs, and performing Root Cause Analysis.
However, as Qblox grows into a global company, your role will evolve. As we shift production to external international partners, your focus will move toward a strategic Quality Engineering position. You will be the architect of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality frameworks that our global partners will follow. You aren't just fixing hardware; you are building the scalable quality engine that allows Qblox to operate worldwide.
What you will do
● Operational Excellence: Rapidly address hardware issues in production and manage customer repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for our global users.
● Root Cause & Prevention: Investigate, identify, and prevent historical hardware failures. You turn data from our ticketing system into actionable improvements.
● Global Scalability: Create the repair manuals, specialized tools, and technical documentation required to transfer our quality standards to international production partners.
● Supply Chain Quality: Inspect incoming goods, communicate directly with suppliers, and verify Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure only the best components enter our stack.
● Technical Troubleshooting: Use our advanced lab test equipment and write your own Python scripts to find faults in hardware and firmware.
● Bridge to Engineering: Act as a feedback loop for the R&D team, ensuring that insights from the field are integrated into the design of next-generation products.
Job requirements
Enough about us, what about you?
"How you do anything is how you do everything" – At Qblox, we believe your work is a reflection of who you are. We are looking for a proactive, accurate professional who brings their best self to every task.
● The Background: An MSc or BSc in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
● The Experience: Around 5 years of relevant professional experience (with at least 2 years in high-tech production, laboratory, or cleanroom environments).
● The Toolbox: You possess a structured, quality-driven mindset. You have a strong affinity for production processes, assembly, inspection, and the creation of technical documentation.
● The Analytical Edge: Strong problem-solving skills; you can navigate old electrical schematics and layouts with ease to find the "needle in the haystack."
● The Communication: Clear communication skills in English are required; proficiency in Dutch is a plus. You can work independently while remaining a reliable collaborator within the team.
● The Growth Mindset: You are excited by the prospect of starting "in the trenches" of hardware and growing into a strategic role as the company expands internationally.
● The Commitment: This is an on-site position at our headquarters in Delft to ensure direct interaction with the hardware and lab equipment.
