As the FP&A and Business Finance Lead, your mission is to identify and mitigate financial and business risks, collaborate with stakeholders in planning and forecasting, and develop KPIs aligned with strategic initiatives. You will provide insightful analytics, support decision-making by determining financial impacts, and steer financial cycles. Your role involves challenging the status quo, implementing cost and cash effectiveness initiatives, and supporting the implementation of financial systems and tools. You will build and retain a top-performing Accounting and Reporting Team, reporting directly to the CFO.

Your role & responsibilities:

• Identify financial and business risks and develop processes to mitigate or escalate to CFO;
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and other finance functions in business planning and forecasting activities;
• Develop and monitor/KPIs aligned with the company’s overall strategic initiatives;
• Translating strategic objectives and decisions into clear KPIs;
• Providing insightful analytics and developing business cases with data-based insights to support business in decision-making;
• Support business decision making by determining the financial impacts;
• Steering financial cycles (budget, forecast, actuals) in close collaboration with budget owners;
• Challenging the status quo, identifying and implementing cost and cash effectiveness initiatives to optimize business results;
• Support in the identification and implementation of financial systems and tools to improve and/or automate processes to drive more efficient finance operations;
• Build and retain an “A-class” Accounting and Reporting Team by hiring, retaining and developing top talent

Education & experience:

• Higher Education Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration;
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a Business Control or FP&A environment and demonstrated experience in managing complex financial processes in an international environment
• Extensive experience with planning applications and related tools (BI reporting, etc).
• Big 4 background and relevant industry experience is preferred
• Tech-minded agent of change with a record of optimizing manual processes, driving efficiencies and deploying automation
• Operational experience with financial reporting tools such as Power BI and MS Excel;
• A forward-thinking mindset that prioritizes automation and innovation in financial workflows;
• Start-up / scale up experience;
• Demonstrated timely decision-making and communications on complex accounting issues;
• Demonstrated ability to work as a business partner to a company’s leadership team and across the company to improve business processes and decision-making;
• Fluency in English required, Dutch is preferred.
