Customer Success Manager · Food Tech Start-up · Rotterdam

A hands-on customer succes role for someone who know the food industry from the inside - and wants to help it move forward with AI software specifically made for people in quality, safety and operations.

Why join Passionfruit?

Quality and operations teams at food suppliers spend a huge part of their week working through their inbox: answering customer questionnaires, updating certificates of analysis, filling in technical data sheets — manually, repetitively, over and over again.

Passionfruit changes that. With AI and software to do the heavy lifting — searching, filling, writing, comparing — so quality, safety, ESG and technical teams spend less time in their inbox and more time working with customers, suppliers and their teams.

We're a small but fast-moving team based in Rotterdam, supporting a growing amount of food suppliers across the Netherlands and wider Europe.

The foundation is there. Now it's about taking it further — and your role is central to that.

The role — Customer Success Manager

You're the person our customers rely on to get real value from Passionfruit. On-site with new customers, close to existing users, and the direct link between what happens in the field and what we build next.

  • Run onboardings — on-site, hands-on, teams walk away knowing exactly what to do and what comes next.
  • Stay close to users — regular check-ins, sharing updates, unblocking where needed, building real relationships with users and managers.
  • Bridge to Passionfruit product and founders — what you hear in the field shapes what we build.
  • Shape how we support customers — you're the first, the playbook grows with you.

One day you're running a customer kickoff with 10 new users on-site. The next you're with the product team — sharing what's landing, what isn't, and which customers to test the next feature on. The day after, showing users the newest updates. No two days the same.

Who we're looking for

You've probably spent a few years working inside the food industry or a similar one — in quality, operations, technical sales, or something close — and at some point thought: I want to help this industry move forward, but not by staying within just one company.

You're excited about what technology can do for the people you used to work alongside.

  • Background in quality, food safety, operations, technical sales or customer-facing roles — in food, manufacturing, chemicals, packaging or similar
  • You understand how these teams work from the inside: the pressure, the inbox, the language
  • You get energy from being with customers and users, not just on a call
  • Comfortable with software, curious about how tools work, and structured enough to document what you learn — you don't need to be technical, but you can't be afraid of a new system
  • You're comfortable when things aren't fully figured out yet — and see that as an opportunity, not a problem
  • Dutch and English, spoken and written
  • Based in or willing to commute to Rotterdam (2× per week in office)

We hire for industry knowledge, people skills, and genuine curiosity. Not a perfect CV.

Already done this kind of role at a B2B software company? We'd love to hear from you too.

What we offer

Be the person who makes sure our customers get real value out of Passionfruit — and help transform how quality and operational teams in food work.

  • Salary €40,000 – €50,000 depending on experience
  • Future employee stock option plan
  • Min. 2 days a week from our Rotterdam office — the rest is flexible
  • Take the vacation time you need; no fixed limits
  • €1,000 annual learning budget for books, courses, or conferences
  • A small team that takes the work seriously and each other lightly — team breakfasts, off-sites, and a group that genuinely enjoys building together
