Job Description: Group Finance Manager

Reports to: VP Finance / CFO

Location: Rotterdam or Stockholm

With operations and subsidiaries in multiple countries, Paebbl is growing rapidly and developing a scalable financial backbone to support our mission and expansion.

Purpose of the Role

As Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across the Paebbl Group. You will coordinate with our external bookkeeping and accounting partners in different jurisdictions, manage group consolidations, and support financial controls, analysis, and internal reporting.

In addition to managing core accounting and control activities, the role supports group-wide planning, budgeting, and performance analysis, providing actionable insights that enable informed decision-making by leadership and investors. The position also contributes to strategic initiatives—including long-term financial planning, investment evaluation, and operational improvement—helping to enhance the Group’s financial performance, governance, and scalability as the Paebbl grows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Group Accounting & Consolidation

  • Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual group financial statements (under IFRS, Dutch GAAP, and possibly other jurisdictions).

  • Coordinate with external bookkeeping consultants to ensure accurate and consistent reporting across entities.

  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations, loan balances, and eliminations.

  • Maintain and improve consolidation models and reporting tools.

  • Support annual audits and statutory reporting requirements.

2. Financial Control & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain financial controls across the group, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

  • Assist with budget vs. actual analysis, cost tracking, and financial performance monitoring.

  • Support the preparation of management reports and dashboards for leadership and investors.

  • Participate in building and refining forecasting models together with the finance team.

3. Process Coordination with External Partners

  • Act as the main point of contact for external accounting and bookkeeping firms.

  • Review local ledgers and management accounts prepared externally; ensure alignment with group policies.

  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables for monthly closing, consolidation, and audit preparation.

  • Ensure smooth communication between external partners, local operations, and group finance.

4. Policy, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain group accounting manuals and internal control frameworks.

  • Drive process improvements, automation, and consistency across entities.

  • Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and statutory requirements in cooperation with external advisors.

  • Support the implementation of accounting or ERP systems as the company grows.

5. FP&A/ Controlling Tasks

  • Support the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the group.

  • Develop and monitor KPIs, cost center reports, and financial dashboards.

  • Work closely with operational teams to provide financial insight and identify efficiency opportunities.

  • Analyze trends, variances, and underlying business drivers to support management decisions.

  • Building models to support strategic planning, scenarios analysis, budgeting and forecasting

  • Contribute to quarterly management reports and presentations.

6. Ad Hoc & Strategic Support

  • Assist with grant reporting, project tracking, or cost allocation models.

  • Contribute to funding rounds, investor reporting, and scenario analysis.

  • Provide analytical support for new entity setups, intercompany agreements, or process rollouts.

  • Support the development of long-term financial plans (3-5 years) in collaboration with business units

  • Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, new initiatives and investment opportunities using ROI, IRR, NPV and cash-flow analysis

  • Identify opportunities for margin expansion, revenue growth and operational efficiencies

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 4–7 years’ relevant experience, ideally from a mix of audit and in-house roles.

  • Solid knowledge of IFRS and/or Dutch/Swedish GAAP.

  • Experience in group consolidation and multi-entity environments.

  • Prior exposure to external accounting setups (outsourced bookkeeping, shared services, etc.) is highly valuable.

  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting or consolidation systems (e.g., Light and Abacum).

  • Experience with budgeting and controlling processes is a plus.

  • Fluent in English; Dutch, Swedish or other European languages are a plus.
