Quality Manager

Become a Leader in Climate Technology Innovation at Paebbl!

Join Paebbl, a founder-led start-up in the burgeoning field of climate technology and the emerging “carbon economy”. Our mission is to permanently sequester CO2 and repurpose it into essential products. Inspired by natural CO2 mineralization, our technology accelerates this process by a factor of a million and is now ready for scale-up. We are backed by supportive, long-term oriented institutional and private investors, and our team features a diverse group of experts from technology, industrial engineering, digital innovation, waste management, finance, and academia.

Position Overview:
The Quality Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our Co2 capture process and Co2 storing products. This role will focus on establishing and managing quality standards, overseeing the generation of verified and measurable data to support carbon credit removal, and ensuring that all production processes align with regulatory and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality management within a materials, chemical, or cement-related industry and a deep understanding of carbon accounting and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Product Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) to ensure the CO2 storing process and product production meets the highest quality standards.
  • Monitor and control quality metrics at each stage of the production process, including raw material sourcing, CO2 mineralization, and final product performance.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and quality checks to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact product quality.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to establish quality benchmarks and continuously improve production processes.

Carbon Credit Verification:

  • Design and oversee the data collection processes to generate verified and measurable data for carbon removal credits.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant carbon accounting frameworks and certification standards (e.g., Verified Carbon Standard, Gold Standard, Pure or others) to support the company’s carbon credit initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external verification bodies to certify carbon credit claims and ensure the accuracy and transparency of all data.
  • Keep abreast of developments in carbon accounting and emissions reporting to maintain best practices for carbon removal data.

Quality Standards Implementation:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control protocols for the entire production chain, ensuring compliance with both internal and external quality standards.
  • Establish and manage process control measures to ensure product consistency and reliability, from raw materials to finished Co2 storing products.
  • Lead initiatives to implement ISO or other industry-recognized certifications related to quality management and environmental standards.
  • Train production and engineering teams on quality control processes and protocols, ensuring adherence to best practices.

Continuous Improvement & Data-Driven Decisions:

  • Analyse production data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement in both quality and efficiency.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product quality, reduce waste, and improve production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to provide feedback on product formulations and processing techniques based on quality data.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all production processes comply with relevant industry regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting product quality, environmental impact, and carbon emissions within the cement and concrete industries.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of quality control procedures, product performance data, and carbon credit verification data.
  • Generate quality reports and documentation for internal use, external audits, and certification bodies.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to drive decisions related to product quality and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality management, preferably within the cement, construction materials, or related industries.
  • Experience in developing and managing quality control systems (ISO 9001 or similar certifications preferred).
  • Strong understanding of carbon accounting frameworks and experience with carbon credit verification processes.
  • Proven ability to manage quality data, interpret results, and implement corrective actions to maintain high product standards.
  • Knowledge of production processes involving high-pressure reactors, chemical processes, or CO2 capture technologies is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to quality assurance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor teams on quality standards.
  • Passion for sustainability and innovation in reducing carbon emissions through technology.

Why Join Us?
