Paebbl is looking to add an outstanding Research Project Leader to the team, based in our R&D center in Rotterdam. This will be a pivotal role in making sure we make transformative improvements to our technology through research. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating research ideas into concrete projects and overseeing their management. You will be working closely with the R&D Leader, the CTO and the engineering team with the goal of enabling the team to go as fast as possible in its R&D and process improvement. The role will report to the R&D Leader and the CTO.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Your responsibilities will include

• Project Conversion: you will lead the process of converting conceptual ideas, developed within the research team or at the laboratory scale, into well-defined research projects containing clear research objectives.
• Research Project Management: Once projects are defined, you will assume responsibility for managing and coordinating research efforts. This entails establishing realistic timelines, allocating resources effectively, coordinating with team members, and ensuring adherence to research protocols.
• Project Collaboration and Communication: serving as a vital link between the other Research team members, the CTO, the Engineering team and potential external parties, your routines include making sure project stakeholders are aligned and well informed of their tasks, project objectives and process.

We welcome the initiative of taking on more responsibility as you grow with the organisation; the evolution of this role will be up for the successful candidate to shape.

Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands. A moderate amount of travelling will be required to spend time at partner universities, vendors etc.

YOUR PROFILE

You are a self-starter with a relentless drive and curiosity for solving scientific and technical problems. You thrive in high-paced environments and enjoy completing things fast. You exhibit a highly collaborative attitude, and your references are a testament to your teamwork skills.

You have at least a M.Sc. perhaps a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a scientific field relevant to Mineral Carbonation (e.g. chemical engineering, chemistry, geochemistry).

You have at least 5 years of scientific research experience, preferably both in academic and industry settings. You have a track record of successfully managing research projects.

You have excellent project management skills and experience in coordinating teamwork as well as team leadership. You can inspire a team of researchers, guide and mentor scientists and cultivate a culture of joyful collaboration and innovation; Paebbl is a place that welcomes creative solutions and novel ideas. You have successfully worked with multi-disciplinary teams.

You find it easy to identify bottlenecks and naturally take initiative to solve them yourself, or swiftly coordinate your team to solve the matter.

You have excellent communication skills and are very fluent in English.
