Quantum Product Manager (full-time)
Orange Quantum Systems
About OrangeQS
OrangeQS offers products to test quantum chip performance. Creating the test equipment and protocols needed to obtain relevant information about this performance requires extensive development time and expertise.
Our easy-to-use tools provide our customers with fast and reliable testing of quantum chips. Our products are the result of a seamless integration of our proprietary testing protocols and carefully selected measurement and control hardware components. All these developments will enable us to deliver industrial-scale quantum chip testing with high throughput.
Role
Orange Quantum Systems is looking for an experienced Quantum Product Manager to bridge the gap between cutting-edge quantum technology and real-world customer needs. In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise with product vision to shape the development and positioning of our quantum test systems.
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with both our engineering teams and customers to translate complex technical capabilities into valuable solutions. You will guide product strategy, support customer implementations, and help define the roadmap for our quantum test systems and software platforms. With Orange Quantum Systems in a strong growth phase, this role offers the opportunity to directly influence the direction of quantum technology applications and establish yourself as a thought leader in the field.
You have both the technical depth to engage with quantum researchers at the highest level and the strategic mindset to identify market opportunities and drive product decisions.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute product strategy for quantum test systems in collaboration with leadership and engineering teams.
- Serve as the technical interface with customers, understanding their experimental requirements and translating them into product features and specifications.
- Support customer implementations, providing technical guidance on system integration, calibration protocols, and optimization strategies.
- Identify and evaluate new application areas and market opportunities for quantum control technology.
- Contribute to technical roadmap development, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and market timing.
- Represent Orange Quantum Systems at scientific conferences, customer sites, and industry events.
- Bridge the gap between research-grade requirements and scalable product development.
Qualifications
- Education & research background: Postgraduate training in experimental solid-state physics, experimental quantum computing, or closely related field, with several years of research experience or equivalent professional experience in quantum technology development.
- Technical expertise: Hands-on experience with quantum systems (superconducting qubits, spin qubits, trapped ions, or similar), including device characterization, control protocols, and measurement techniques.
- Product mindset: Experience or strong interest in product management, customer engagement, or translating research insights into practical solutions. Having prior experience in a product role, startup environment, or customer-facing technical position is a strong plus.
- Communication skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences—from academic researchers to business stakeholders—and to represent the company professionally in customer and partner interactions.
- Strategic thinking: Comfortable balancing technical depth with broader market and business considerations; able to prioritize competing demands and make pragmatic decisions. If you come from an academic background, you have demonstrated strategic improvements to the lab/research group.
- Collaborative approach: Enjoys working across disciplines, bringing together perspectives from engineering, sales, and customer success to drive outcomes.
- Mindset: Curious, pragmatic, and driven to see quantum technology move from lab to real-world impact.
- Language: Proficiency in English required.
