UX Writer
HousingAnywhere
The role
We're looking for a bilingual (English and German) Junior UX writer to join our UX department. This position requires a passion for plain language and a deep understanding of how language can influence the user experience. You will create, edit, and review various forms of interface content—web copy, transactional emails, help articles, and more—to help the business and our users succeed in their goals. This is not a marketing or social media role.
At HousingAnywhere, we have several cross-functional teams. UX writers partner directly with designers, product managers, researchers, and engineers to help deliver UX solutions that drive engagement. The UX team is a small group of 11 people, including UX Writers, UX Researchers, and Product Designers. You’ll be our third UX Writer, reporting to the Product Design Lead. Your work will impact our products and how the product writing practice evolves in the company.
Responsibilities
- Write clear, concise, purposeful user interface and supportive content.
- Work with designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that drive product and feature adoption.
- Collaborate with other UX writers to align messaging across all touchpoints and our content standards and guidelines.
- Use research findings and voice-of-customer data to inform and iterate on your work.
- Maintain and contribute to our evolving content guidelines.
- Contribute to our German localization guidelines.
- Ensure German translations meet a consistently high standard, reviewing and refining them as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of UX writing experience, preferably in a product-focused environment.
- Native-level fluency in English and German.
- Portfolio showcasing your user experience work.
- Broad understanding of UX writing, user-centered design principles, and best practices.
- Impeccable grammatical and proofreading skills.
- Attention to detail while working on multiple projects.
- Comfortable iterating based on research findings and team feedback.
- The ability to create and present your content's digital mockups (Figma) is a plus.
- Multilingual project experience is a plus.
What’s in it for you
- Diverse international community (46+ nationalities).
- Hybrid working policy with 2 days working from office.
- Unlimited paid holidays, minimum-based not maximum.
- 1,000 EUR personal development budget.
- Complete coverage for commuting.
- Personal equipment, including laptop and ergonomic setup.
- Relocation support & 30% ruling application assistance.
- Gym membership discount with GoVital or OneFit.
- Variable pension scheme.
- Dutch/English classes budget.
- Fun team-building and after-work drinks every Friday.
