HR Business Partner (German speaking)

At Gradyent we're looking for a HR Business Partner to join our team.

Who We Are

A quarter of all energy in the world is consumed to heat buildings. District heating is the most significant opportunity for cities to decarbonise. Gradyent is on a mission to help cities to decarbonise faster by digitising district heating with our Digital Twin platform. Backed by a group of top investors, we are scaling the platform globally.

We currently have a team of 120+ people and offices in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), Germany, Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland. Our team combines programmers and energy specialists, data scientists and top-tier consulting alums. We are expanding quickly and looking for an HR Business Partner in the Netherlands to help us scale up our initiatives.

What We Do

We offer a SaaS solution to create Digital Twins of heating networks and are now expanding our platform to include industrial networks. These Digital Twins, powered by AI and analytics, optimise (district) heating networks from heat sources to customers. As a result, we are transforming networks by reducing CO2 emissions and optimising operations in terms of temperatures, pressures, costs, and more.

What You Will Do

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Business Partner to join our dynamic HR team. In this key role, you will partner with the HR Lead, your peer HR Business Partner and senior management to drive strategic HR initiatives across the EU and globally. You will play a critical role in supporting business growth and organizational effectiveness by providing expert HR guidance and support on a wide range of people-related matters.

As this role also will support our team based in Germany it will require working knowledge and understanding of the German Labor-law regulation

In addition, you will also be working on the following:

Strategic HR Partnership:

  • Partner with the HR Lead, the other HR BP and Management Team to support and develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives across the EU and globally.

  • Provide strategic HR advice and guidance to business leaders on a range of people-related issues, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and organizational change.

  • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends, assess effectiveness of HR programs, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Employee Relations:

  • Advise and guide managers on employee relations matters, ensuring full compliance with EU and countyr specific labor law and regulations in all aspects of employment.

  • Handle complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, performance issues, and conflict resolution, with a strong emphasis on legal and regulatory compliance.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential legal risks related to employment practices in Germany.

Talent Management:

  • Support the development and implementation of talent management strategies, including talent acquisition and succession planning.

  • Partner with the recruitment team to attract and hire top talent across the EU, with a particular focus on sourcing and on-boarding German talent.

Change Management:

  • Support and guide leaders and employees through organizational change initiatives, ensuring a smooth and successful transition.

HR Operations:

  • Together with the peer HR BP oversee and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of HR services across the EU (including overseeing the HR Operations in DACH, East and Central EU countries.)

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience as an HR Business Partner.

  • Proven expertise in German labor law and regulations, with a demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to practical HR situations

  • Fluency in English and German (both written and spoken) is essential.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
