The Product

Envision products articulate visual information into speech. The Envision App is free for everyone — It uses your smartphone’s camera to speak out written information, describes surroundings and objects, and even tells you who’s nearby. Excelling in all kinds of text and object recognition, Envision can read the text in over 60 languages. Be it handwritten notes, text on food packages, or the pages of an entire book.

Our Envision Glasses meanwhile brings our award-winning software to smart glasses, enabling the unprecedented experience of unobtrusive access to the visual world. With features ranging from real-time text recognition, to voice controls and even hands-free video calling, Envision Glasses open the door for the future of wearable assistive technology.

The role

Our Envision app is growing bigger and bigger by the day. Which means we now have the ability to impact so many more, if we build our tools the right way. We are looking for teammates who will join us on this journey to code, to build, to impact and have fun while doing it.

What you will do:

• Join as a senior developer on the iOS App team to push the envelope by implementing new features while keeping an eye on the quality of the existing feature set.
• Ensure the team is working through the roadmap efficiently by planning sprints and incorporating feedback from users.
• Work with the Glasses team to support feature development and tie it in with the iOS app.

What we are looking for:

• You're well versed with Swift and also can understand Objective-C.
• You have 3-5 years experience with the iOS platform. Experience as a lead or building apps from a ground up is a huge plus.
• You've a good knowledge of Xcode and can debug/profile apps with Instruments.
• Experience working with hardware products that used Core Bluetooth is a plus.
• You are comfortable working in a startup environment, where speed, flexibility and experimentation are part of the day-to-day.
• Bonus: if you've experience with building apps on Android.
