See open jobs at Edorado.See open jobs similar to "Embedded Software Engineer" Up!Rotterdam. At Edorado we are convinced that all conventional powerboats will be replaced by fast electric foiling boats. We are developing the technology to drive this new archetype of boats. Edorado’s boats rely on computer controlled artificial stability based on inputs from sensors, smart algorithms and electromechanical actuation of the hydrofoils.
For several years we have been developing our own proprietary technology with a small and dedicated team. Through several generations of prototypes, iterations of hard- & software and a lot of testing on the water, we finalised the first generation of this system. We are now looking to expand our team with a talented electronics engineer, to further speed up this development and prepare the Edorado 8S for market introduction.
Collaborate with the engineering team to define software requirements for the electric hydrofoiling boat.
Develop, test, and maintain embedded software and firmware for the boat's control systems and propulsion mechanisms.
Implement and optimize control algorithms for hydrofoiling, ensuring a smooth and safe flying experience.
Interface with sensors, actuators, and communication modules to enable seamless integration and data exchange.
Troubleshoot and debug software and hardware issues to ensure the boat's reliability and performance.
Participate in system integration, validation, and testing processes.
Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements, applying them to improve our product continuously.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in embedded software development, preferably in the marine or automotive industry.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Strong understanding of control systems and algorithms for dynamic vehicles.
Familiarity with communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, and UART.
Experience in working with sensors, motors, and actuators in embedded systems.
Knowledge of safety standards and practices in embedded software development.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment with a focus on problem-solving and collaboration.
If you are an enthusiastic Embedded Software Engineer ready to take on the challenge of shaping the future of electrified water transportation, we want to hear from you. Join our team and be part of an exciting journey towards a more sustainable and thrilling boating experience. Since we are a boat company some of the work will also take place at the waterfront off course ;-)
