As a data engineer, you become an indispensable specialist in one of our data & AI teams, working shoulder-to-shoulder with data scientists and project owners. A craftsman -really- that sketches and shapes the required cloud infrastructure to ensure a smooth way of working. Be it through the construction of robust ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses & star schemas, or building a scalable data platform.

In your role, you will be able to free your inner MacGyver, applying your eye for detail, quirky humor, and jaw-dropping resourcefulness.

🚀 What will be part of your responsibilities?

• Architect data solutions that integrate with a customer’s existing technology stack.
• Design and implement cloud architectures (e.g., Google Cloud, Azure) tailored to data-intensive applications and BI use cases.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for efficient data processing.
• Design data warehouses and star schemas for advanced analytics and reporting.
• Ensure system stability, performance, security, and compliance with backup policies.
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems to maintain operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to implement best practices and optimize workflows.
• Contribute to the development of internal and client-specific software tools.
• Educate and support customers in adopting scalable data solutions.

🚀Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud & Azure).
• Familiarity with data modeling techniques (Kimball, Data Vault 2.0).
• Understanding of Unix environments and essential software engineering principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing.
• Strong communication skills in English.

🐱‍🚀 Preferred Skills:

• Expertise in Databricks is a definitive plus
• Familiarity with other tools like Spark or dbt
• Experience with low-code solutions (e.g., Power Apps)
• Speaking Dutch is a plus
