Business Development Manager

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our commercial team.

Calling customer service can be frustrating, right? We too have had our fair share of bad customer service experiences. That’s why we are on a mission to take the friction out of calling customer service. We’re not aiming to replace human customer service agents, but rather to give them superpowers! While AssistYou’s digital voice assistant “Lisa” welcomes the customer and handles the simple, repetitive tasks, customer service agents can focus on what they do best: provide impeccable service.

What we solve

We develop best-in-class voice assistants (“Digital Hosts”) who answer the phone for companies such as ANWB, Coolblue and Eneco. As a market leader in speech technology and AI in customer service by phone, AssistYou transforms the way customers and companies interact with each other. We combine human qualities, such as creativity and empathy, with digital qualities such as virtually unlimited capacity and instant delivery. Examples of situations that we solve for our clients' customers are: no more waiting for service, no more annoying menu options, and no more customer service employees that have to ask you who you are and what you are calling for. Our impact? A great customer experience, optimal support for customer service agents and actionable insights from customers that benefit the entire business.

Who are we

AssistYou was founded in 2018 by Bram van Zanten and Pepijn de Rijk, who both started their careers at the Google EMEA Headquarters in Dublin. In January 2020, Victor Welling joined the Management Team from Coolblue. We are a young team of ~20 people, made up of software developers, AI & machine learning engineers, customer success specialists and sales & marketing managers. Our office is located in the center of Rotterdam, in het Groothandelsgebouw (right next to Central Station). Given we are growing rapidly and are serving more and more customers, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team!

Responsibilities & growth opportunities

As a Business Development Manager, you are a crucial member of our sales team. Your objective is to find the right prospects, make sure they have an outstanding first experience with AssistYou and qualify the opportunity in case they are interested in our product.
Your responsibilities include:

  • Coming up (together with your team) with creative upper funnel campaigns to gather interest.

  • Researching potential prospects to understand how AssistYou can help them.

  • Preparing engaging demo’s & storyline’s for direct & partner prospects.

  • Personal outreach to get our prospects excited about AssistYou.

  • Qualifying prospects & preparing their business case (i.e. “are we a fit?”).

  • Closing SME leads introduced through our partners independently

Prerequisites & nice to haves

Core requirements

You:

  • are fanatical in wanting to create the best customer service experience for companies.

  • are an effective communicator and a good listener, who can gather the right information while having an enjoyable conversation.

  • are enthusiastic about (our) technology, can understand what it can and cannot do to make the right match and get others fired-up about working with us.

  • are creative at finding ways to get attention from the right people.

  • are smart with words & numbers in order to effectively persuade.

  • are fluent in Dutch (spoken & written) and proficient in English.

Preferred

  • Experience selling to large SME / enterprises.

  • Experience selling SaaS.

  • Industry (customer service) experience.
