The Role
Appsilon Enterprise is seeking a Technical Sales Professional who specializes in the application and commercialization of diamond-enhanced surgical blades and precision medical cutting instruments. In this role, you will play a critical part in bridging innovation and surgical performance—collaborating with R&D teams, surgeons, distributors, OEMs, and procurement professionals across sectors including microsurgery, dental surgery, orthopedics, and biotechnology.
Core Responsibilities
- Promote and sell high-precision single crystal diamond surgical blades (scalpels, microtomes, biopsy punches, etc.).
- Understand surgeon, distributor and hospital needs regarding edge retention, biocompatibility, cutting smoothness, and sterility.
- Collaborate with Engineering and R&D to customize blade geometries for specific procedures (e.g. ophthalmic incisions, minimally invasive surgery).
- Conduct clinical product trials and gather feedback from medical professionals to improve cutting performance, ergonomics, and lifecycle.
- Prepare technical documentation and ROI analyses focusing on precision, reusability, infection control, and surgical efficiency.
- Act as a technical advisor to hospitals, distributors, and medical device manufacturers regarding regulatory requirements, sterilization compatibility, and ISO standards.
What We Value
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales or application engineering of medical cutting tools, preferably with diamond, sapphire, ceramic, or ultra-hard materials.
- Deep knowledge of: Surgical blade edge design (e.g. bevel angles, honed vs. laser-sharpened), Wear mechanisms and coatings for medical instruments, Surface roughness & particulate generation in surgical environments, Biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, and sterilization durability.
- Proven sales experience through collaborating with medical doctors, other clinical stakeholders and medical device regulatory teams.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication, with an ability to translate complex technical data into clinical and commercial value.
- No travel restriction and experienced driver.
- High organizational skills, resilience, and motivation to deliver innovative healthcare solutions.
